Winter Book sprinted her way to victory in Sunday's $55,000 Permian Basin S. at Zia Park to give Eisaman Equine grads their third stakes victory of the weekend.
The 2-1 favorite in the six furlong dash, Winter Book spotted Christmas Cruise four lengths after a quarter mile, but reeled in the front-runner in the next two furlongs, then drew clear in the stretch to post a 2 1/4-length victory.
Eisaman sold the Kentucky-bred daughter of Any Given Saturday at the OBS Spring 2-year-old sale in April, with the winning bid of $50,000 coming from the filly's current trainer Henry Dominguez.
Winter Book, now undefeated in two starts, is a half-sister to a pair of 2-year-old stakes winners: Motor City, who won the Grade 3 Iroquois S. at Churhchill Downs; and Satulagi, a listed winner in England.
