Eisaman Equine sold the top-priced juvenile during day one of the Fasig-Tipton’s May 19-20 Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale in Timonium, Md., a colt by War Front that brought a winning bid of $520,000 from Steve Young, agent.
The session-topping colt breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5 at the under-tack preview on May 14. Consigned as hip No. 274, the colt, out of Judy's Magic, is a half-brother to Grade 1 Go For Wand H. runner-up She's Got the Beat and a three-quarter brother to a War Front colt who set a European record for a breeze-up sale at Tattersalls Craven sale in April, selling to bloodstock agent Jamie McCalmont for just over $2 million. Judy's Magic is a full sister to the stakes winner Rolandthemonarch.
"He's a super-nice horse," said Young, who purchased the colt for an undisclosed client. "He possibly could have brought more money under different circumstances.”
Eisaman topped all consignors after the first day of the May 19-20 sale, with 18 horses sold for a total of $1.66 million, an average of $92,222.
