Eisaman sales grad My Conquestadory's stellar victory in the $212,800 Summer S. Saturday at Woodbine has earned the 2-year-old daughter of Artie Schiller a free trip to the Breeders' Cup this November.
The grassy one-mile Summer S. is an automatic qualifier for a position in the starting gate for the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 1.
Trained by Mark Casse for Ernie Semersky and Dory Newell's Conquest Stables LLC, My Conquestadory was acquired for $240,000 from the Eisaman consignment out of the 2013 OBS Select 2-year-old sale in Florida this March.
With the daunting task of making her debut in a stake and facing colts My Conquestadory nevertheless proved her mettle, taking command at the three-sixteenths pole under rider Eurico Rosa da Silva and opening up in the stretch to win by 3 1/4-lengths.
The winner stopped the clock in 1:34.81, which was more than a second faster than the Grade 2 Natalma, for 2-year-old fillies, earlier on the card.
"I didn't think about losing the race. It never came to my mind that she could be beat," said a supremely confident da Silva. "I had great confidence in her and the whole (Casse) team said how nice she is. She's a great filly."
The victory was worth $120,000 to the filly's connections.
