Eisaman Equine training grad Oliver Zip captured the $100,000 Fred "Cappy" Capossela for 3-year-olds on Saturday at Aqueduct with sharp gate-to-wire, 4 1/2-length victory.

Ridden by Rajiv Maragh, the chestnut colt came out of the gate very quick, establishing a length lead after a half-mile in :46.37. Maragh shook the reins at his mount at the top of the stretch to draw away from the field powerfully to stop the clock in 1:10.21 for the six furlongs.

"He breaks so sharp from the gate every time," said Maragh, of the City Zip colt. "This horse is so consistent. He cruised the first three-eighths, and then he powered home."

"Part of the reason we ran back in two weeks (a seven-length allowance win on Feb. 21) was knowing how bad the weather was and that horses wouldn't be able to train," said Breen. "We used that as a stepping stone to have our horse fit and ready to go."

The win was Oliver Zip's third in five career starts, all at six furlongs, and took his earnings to $155,300 for owners Lori and George Hall.

"We'll see how he comes out of this race and might point him to the Bay Shore (Grade 3, April 5 at Aqueduct)," Breen added.

Oliver Zip was bred in Kentucky by K&G Stable. He is the first foal out of All of Her Twist, winner of the Dearly Precious S.
