Saint Arthur cruised to a front-running two length win in the $50,000 Ontario County S. June 29 at Finger Lakes racetrack to give the 3-year-old Eisaman sales grad his first career stakes win.
Contested at six furlongs over a sloppy racetrack, Saint Arthur put away his fellow 3-year-olds in the early going. The bay son of Invasor (ARG) was up a length after a quarter mile, increased the margin to 3 ½ after a half mile and stretching out to about five before easing up late with the race well in hand.
Trained by Carlos Martin for Crown Stable, Saint Arthur is 2-1-3 in seven starts, earning $129,840. He placed in three stakes as a 2-year-old before breaking his maiden in November at Aqueduct.
Eisaman sold Saint Arthur at the 2-year-old Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale in May, 2012. Steve Young was the winning bidder, at $170,000. Saint Arthur is out of Miss Winning Sweep, the dam of three stakes horses in addition to Saint Arthur, and is from the same family as the incomparable champion sprinter Precisionist.
