Silent Serenity held off a late charge from Swift Artist to claim victory in Saturday's $104,316 Ruling Angel S. at Woodbine, giving Eisaman grads a 1-2 finish in the race.
Sent off at a generous 36-1, Silent Serenity was up by 2 1/2-lengths in mid-stretch before ultimately winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:16.36. Swift Artist, meanwhile, came from seventh after a half-mile to grab the runner-up spot.
Prior to her racing career, Silent Serenity was consigned by Eisaman Equine to the 2011 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale, bringing $20,000 from Brian Lynch. Eisaman purchased Silent Serenity for $4,500 out of the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale.
The Ruling Angel, a 6 1/2-furlong event for three-year-old fillies was the first career stakes score for the Kentucky-bred daughter of Silent Name, who was ninth in the Duchess S. in July, her first stakes appearance.
Silent Serenity, now a four-time winner from eight starts, has earned $151,183. She is owned by Trinity Racing Stables.
