Two-year-old Vegas No Show got his nose on the wire first to secure a victory in the $75,000 Dover S. Sunday at Delaware Park, capping off a terrific weekend for Eisaman Equine trainees and sales grads that saw the farm also responsible for a Grade 3 winner and a runner-up in the Grade 1 Frizette.
Vegas No Show was never worse than second for the entire 1 mile and 70 yard Dover, but after he overtook pacesetter Tour Guide near the top of the lane, she had to battle Keep the Canoli for the stretch run. The pair hit the wire nearly on even terms, with Vegas No Show prevailing by the slimmest of margins in 1:43.71.
Vegas No Show is one of four stakes winners out of The Hess Express. The group includes Bullsbay, who took the Grade 1 Whitney H. and Grade 3 Alysheba S.; Our Khrysty, winner of the Turnback the Alarm S. (G3) and two other black-type events; and Colleen S. winner Hidden Expression.
The colt is now 2-0-1 in four starts, with earnings of $73,000 for George and Lori Hall.
